BMW X1 Review

BMW produce its subcompact luxury crossover SUV since 2009. It was based on BMW 3 series. The SUV is offered with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It can accommodate 5 passengers and has 4 door hatchbacks. As a luxury crossover SUV, the vehicle offers a fun driving. It has automated emergency braking and you can choose to equip the car with parking feature as it is available as an option.

The X1 doesn’t look like Mini Clubman or heresy. It looks like the other BMW SUVs. With a distinctive look that has the BMW cars’ resemblance. The headlights are quite big and there are large air intakes blow the headlights. The dimension is BMW X1 has 175.4-inch length and 71.7 inches and 62.5-inch in width and height.

The interior of BMW X1 is wrapped by French-stitched leather, matte chrome, dark-oak paneling, and piano-black accents. There is a sophisticated 6.5-inch display screen that gives you convenience in navigating your way to your destinations, making a call, or climate control. BMW X1 has spacious – wrapped with high-quality leather – seating which ensure your comfort while driving it. Then, there are improvements for the latest BMW X1, which are heated seats and steering wheel, of course, will cost you more about $550.

The latest BMW X1 has the 2.0-liter turbo inline-4 engine under its hood along with 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. The engine has 228 horsepower with 258 lb-ft torque. With such horsepower, unfortunately, the car can only reach slightly slower than 60 mph in 6.4 seconds with top speed 129 mph.

However, with its latest generation of BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, even though in low speed, the car will give the driver a remarkably agile power delivery with excellent responsiveness. This engine makes the X1 become more effective than its predecessor with lower emission and better performance.

BMW X1 has some fetching interior trim that can be purchased to brighten the interior mood. You can add a double panel sunroof for $3250 from the premium package or heated seats and steering wheel for $550 as it was mentioned before. Then, another the best part of the X1 is the highly versatile back seat.

Meanwhile, there are some lows of BMW X1. There is a slight performance loss from this vehicle. Then there is no any blind spot camera available even as an option. The wide rear pillars along with the small rear window can hinder your view while you are in traffic. The steering may responsive but loath to any real feedback from the road. The suspension is quite taut and you can feel the bump from something you cannot see.

BMW X1 was dropped to the market with the base price at $35,795 and it can up to $45,920. Then, you may need to spend more than that to add some extension as it was mentioned before.

Overall, the X1 is excellent as a luxury crossover, but we don’t see it as one of the brightest it this class.
